Main Objective:

Our Licensed Paragliding Pilot Program is designed to help licensed pilots enhance their flying skills and push their boundaries in a semi-supervised manner. By joining this program, you’ll grow as a competent pilot efficiently, contributing to the growth of paragliding in South Africa.

Target Audience:

• Recent paragliding graduates
• Pilots looking to gain more airtime
• Pilots new to the Western Cape

Prerequisites:

• Must hold a Basic Paragliding License or foreign equivalent (IPPI 4)

Program Curriculum:

• Unlimited paragliding flying opportunities within your skill level
• Join me during student training and my own recreational flying
• Full-time access to an instructor dedicated to your growth
• Expert advice on paragliding flying sites, weather, fear management, XC routes, thermal flying, and progression steps
• Practical coaching, tasks, and feedback to develop your skills

Program Duration:

• No minimum or maximum duration.
• A monthly subscription that you can cancel anytime.
• All year round
• Winter is peak student training season – it’s an ideal time to join me and work on things like thermal flying, flying mountain sites, landing techniques, etc.
• Summer is thermal-heaven time in the Western Cape so if you’re up for it, I’ll help you become a better xc pilot. If you’re not up for it, its also a great time for building skills at our dune sites

What This Program is Not:

• It is not a full-time, every-weekend-with-an-instructor program.
• It is not a “tell you where to fly every day” service – my daily weather forecast does a pretty good job and summarising potential options daily. Feel free to seek further advice from this starting point or your own starting point.
• It’s not a guarantee to the sport license – I’ll help by advising you on how to go about becoming a competent sport license pilot ready to take on the challenges of sport license sites as well as attain further ratings such as tandem and instructing, should that be of interest to you.
• It’s not an SIV course – I encourage you to do a full SIV course over water so you get the appropriate experience and help tick some of those Sport License requirements

What Does it Cost: R8.30 per day

• I’ve tried to make this as affordable as possible at a low cost of R250 per month which works out to a rather low R8.30 per day
• The subscription is monthly
• Cancel whenever you want
• The goal is to grow this program to sufficient numbers to make it feasible for me to dedicate full days to training and coaching licensed pilots in person.
