Common Questions

  • Do I need to be fit?
Moderate fitness is required, especially for the first solo flying day, when you’ll be walking up a small beach dune
  • What if I’m scared of heights?
No problem, you might be surprised that when you’re in control, the fear doesn’t exist. You’ll have to try it to find out.
  • What’s included in the cost?
    – Phase 1 fee includes all costs, including instruction, gear hire, site fees, and SAHPA membership. Just rock up and do the training.
    – Phase 2 Theory is free, and so is the first exam submission. If you fail the exam, we charge R500 per remark
    – Phase 3 flights are charged at hourly rates. All other costs such as gear hire, site fees, transport, etc. are extra
  • How long does it take to get licensed?
It usually takes people 7 to 8 actual days of physical training. Due to weather and logistics, these days are not consecutive calendar days
  • Do I need to buy gear?
Phase 1 includes gear hire. After Phase 1, you should be 100% sure you want a paragliding license; this is the time to buy gear. We will you advise further.
